Greer Hanlon, Founder/Coach
Greer is the Founder of Charleston Elite and a native of Libertyville, IL. He did not start playing the game of lacrosse until the age of 14, and by the age of 17 he was being recruited by Division I programs. After being voted a high school All-American midfielder in his senior season, he went on to play at the University of Denver under Jamie Munro the founder of 3d Lacrosse. Greer earned 2nd Team All-GWLL as a junior and senior, served as a team captain for his senior season, and led the Pioneers to a #18 ranking. His travels in lacrosse have taken him all over the country as well as Canada where he played Jr. A box lacrosse for 2002 Minto Cup Champion Burnaby Lakers. Upon graduation from Denver, Greer played for the San Jose Stealth of the NLL. While living in Denver, Greer was a youth coach for the Denver Lacrosse Club for 3 years, winning the statewide Jamboree tournament title with his U7 team in 2016. He has coached and individually developed players from youth to high school. Greer is thrilled to bring a brand of lacrosse to Charleston that focuses on player development and ultimately help players and families with options and experiences within the sport of lacrosse.
Ryan Mentnech, Director of Player Development/Coach - 2028/2029 and 2022/2023
Ryan is a defensive specialist who hails from Long Island, NY. Over the course of his childhood he played for many elite club programs and then went on to become a five-year varsity starter for Rocky Point High School and winning a state championship. He began his college lacrosse career at Endicott College and later transferring to Limestone College in the Upstate. At Limestone, Ryan was apart of two national championship teams and learned coaching strategies from one of his coaching models JB Clarke. Since moving to Charleston, he has been a coach for the Loggerheads program and runs private lessons with over 20 individual players here in the Lowcountry. Ryan is excited for the opportunity to build a program that values on and off the field character development.
Barney Ehrmann, Coach - 2022/2023
Barney was born and raised in Baltimore and went to powerhouse the Gilman School. At Gilman he was a multi-sport athlete lettering in football, basketball, and lacrosse. He earned All-City and All-Metro honors in lacrosse as well as All-City, All-Metro, and All-State in football. Barney went on to play lacrosse at Georgetown University where he played defense in 49 games, tallying 176 ground balls, and 58 caused turnovers. He was named 1st and 2nd Team All-ECAC in his career at Georgetown and was drafted 24th overall by the Chesapeake Bayhawks in the 2011 MLL Collegiate Draft. He played 3 seasons in the MLL, winning 2 Steinfeld Cups, and made the 2013 All-Star Team. Barney cannot wait to coach the next crop of great lacrosse players in Charleston.
Parker Ferrigan, Coach - 2024/2025
Parker joins Charleston Elite as a goalie specialist from Baldwinsville, NY. In his high school career he garnered many accolades - 3rd ranked goalie and 39th overall prospect in the Class of 2013 by Inside Lacrosse, played in the Under Armour All-American Game, and was a two-time U.S. Lacrosse All-American. Parker began his college career at Syracuse University and later finished at the University of Delaware where he was a two-year starter in goal for the Blue Hens. Parker is currently an assistant coach at Wando High School and has coached club lacrosse since high school with Sweetlax Upstate. He looks forward to building a pipeline of goalie talent in the Charleston Elite program.
JP Walker, Coach - 2024/2025
JP is a native of Baldwinsville, NY where he grew up playing for FCA and Finger Lakes lacrosse clubs. He played defense and long stick midfield for C.W. Baker High School where he was 1st Team All-League three years in a row. In college, JP played at a very successful Division III program - SUNY Cortland where they won 2 SUNYAC titles. During high school and college he coached for the Baldwinsville youth program. JP has a passion for coaching youth lacrosse and is excited to work with the players of Charleston Elite.
Vincent Fredericks, Coach - 2026
Vincent grew up in the lacrosse hotbed of Long Island and went to Lindenhurst High School where he was a three time All-County selection as a goalie. He earned a scholarship to play lacrosse at CW Post University and was a two-time All-American and the National Goalie of the Year in 1997. Following his time at CW Post, Vincent played 6 years for the LI Hofstra Lacrosse Club which was one of the most predominant postgraduate clubs before the inception of the MLL. Vincent has been coaching and training players of all levels for more than 10 years and strives to coach to each player's ability while promoting good sportsmanship. He looks forward to building the Charleston Elite program and working with our goalies.
Sean O'Brien, Coach - 2026
Sean is a native of Louisville, OH where he began his playing career as a sophomore in high school. As an attackman at St. Thomas Aquinas High School he earned 1st team all-region honors in three consecutive seasons. In college, Sean played one year under PJ Kavanaugh at The University of Mount Union and continued to play a high level of competition with the Burning River Lacrosse Club. He began his high school coaching career at his alma mater as an assistant coach and lead the school to two state finals. At Wando High School, Sean is currently the head JV coach while he teaching at a local middle school. Sean has a passion for spreading his love of the game and is excited to work with the players of Charleston Elite.
Cory Dobyns, Coach - 2027
Cory is a well accomplished lacrosse player from the hotbed of Baltimore. Dobyns played high school lacrosse for perennial power house Georgetown Prep. He was a three-year varsity starter and had 199 career points for the Little Hoyas. He was a 3x Under Armour All-America, 3x IAC Champion, 2x Top 50 Young Gun, 2010 Warrior 40, 2011 All-Gazette and All-Metro team member, and a 2011 Laxpower top attackman. The Little Hoyas were rank 5th in the nation in Dobyns’ senior year and won the state championship. He played collegiately at Towson University and in 2013 Dobyns ranked 4th on the team in points with 22, caused six turnovers, had two game winning goals on the season, and was ranked top five in the nation in total EMO goals. Most recently he coached 4 seasons at Tennessee Wesleyan University as the Bulldogs offensive coordinator. The TWU offense averaged 11.5 goals per game under Dobyns and had back-to-back AAC Players of the Year and one NAIA player of the year. Cory is a 4th/5th grade teacher at North Charleston Elementary School.
Brady Dashiell, Coach - 2027
Brady is a native of Baltimore, MD where he grew up playing for Crabs, and Greene Turtle lacrosse clubs. He played attack and midfield for The Boys' Latin School of Maryland and helped lead the team to a MIAA Championship and National Championship in 2014. After graduating from high school, Brady went on to play Division 1 at Furman University. After two years, he decided to transfer to The College of Charleston and became the president of the Club Lacrosse Team. Brady has a passion for growing the game, and is excited to be a part of The Charleston Elite Program.
Oliver Gates, Coach - 2028
Oliver hails from Cazenovia, NY, a proud lacrosse town. A multi-sport athlete, Oliver won a New York State title in lacrosse, Cazenovia's first of many, and earned CNY Senior All-Star honors. When not playing with the hometown boys, the rangy midfielder played for CNY Roadhawks, and coaching legend Kirk Ventiquattro’s Team 24. Oliver attended Dickinson College, playing a year on Dave Webster’s top DIII program. New to Charleston, Oliver is excited to help grow a game rich in tradition.
Chris Leeper, Faceoff Specialist, Coach - 2028
Chris is the current President of the Charleston Men's Lacrosse Club and has been involved with lacrosse in Charleston for almost 10 years. While growing up in the Lowcountry he was heavily involved in the game of basketball and played and coached at the highest level. After several knee injuries grounded him from the game he loved, he found lacrosse which he was exposed to briefly at a younger age. Finding it hard to find playing time on the field due to the number of guys on the team he gravitated towards the one position everyone seemed to overlook – Faceoff Specialist. Chris is a student of the game and learned the ins and outs from some of the top faceoff specialists. He has trained alongside some of the best faceoff men in the MLL and helped a few prepare for their pro seasons, while coaching and assisting Charleston's faceoff specialists perfect their craft. He is eager to bring his knowledge of this specialized craft to more young players and help them find their true potential on the lacrosse field.
Justin Maarschalkerweerd, Coach
Justin comes to Charleston Elite with an impressive coaching resume from Annapolis, Maryland. He did not start playing lacrosse until he moved to Maryland his freshman year of high school and excelled in the sport and hasn’t looked back since. His playing career afforded him the opportunity to play at the collegiate level as well as playing on the International stage for the Netherlands National Team. His coaching career has led him to coaching at the NJCAA level, numerous club teams in the Baltimore area, The University of Alabama Women’s Lacrosse club, and most recently Archbishop Spalding School which competes in the prestigious MIAA “A” division for high school lacrosse in Maryland. Along with coaching during the season he has also help run the summer lacrosse camps at the United States Naval Academy for the past five years. Other summer camps he has coached at consist of UNC-Chapel Hill, James Madison University, University of Maryland, and the Inside Lacrosse committed combine. His friendships at the college lacrosse level will help our players in the future and spread the word on players in the Charleston area. Justin is extremely excited to bring his knowledge of the game to the youth of Charleston and help grow the game that has given him so much
Hunter Fasanaro, Coach
Hunter is an accomplished lacrosse player current playing midfield at Quinnipiac University. He grew up in Charlotte and graduated from Weddington High School where he led his team to the 2017 NCHSAA state championship with a 19-1 record, as well as back-to-back conference titles. Hunter is Weddington's all-time leader in career points (as well as holding the Union County record) with 280 (157 goals, 123 assists). He earned All-America and league’s Offensive Player of the Year honors as a senior, as well as 1st team all-state and first-team all-region honors, and was a four-time first-team All-Conference selection. He played club lacrosse for Duke's Lacrosse Club. Hunter has a real knack for connecting with kids and makes sure they having fun.
Kayleigh Donnelly, Director of Girls Program/Coach
Kayleigh grew up in Connecticut where her first stick was a boy’s stick when no girls team was available. Luckily, a dad stepped up, bought the US Lacrosse girls handbook, and a girls program was born. Not only did that get her hooked on lacrosse, but it also helped mold her into the coach she is today. She went on to play rec and travel ball until high school where she was a four-year varsity starter while leading her team in scoring all four years. Her passion for coaching began when she attended the University of Delaware and started coaching youth lacrosse. Since relocating to Charleston she has worked with Cusabo rec, ran the Lady Renegades travel program, coached Meeting Street Academy’s team, and worked private lessons. She is eager for the opportunity to work with a team that works collectively to bridge development and growth across both genders within the program.
Harley Barrett, Coach
Harley grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia, PA where she played soccer and lacrosse for the majority of her athletic career. She recently finished her career at Coastal Carolina University as their starting goalie since her sophomore year. Her sophomore year she led the conference in save percentage (50.7%) and finished seventh nationally, was nominated as NCAA player of the week, and received ASUN- First team and All-Tournament Team for her conference awards. Both her junior and senior year she was awarded ASUN First-Team All-Conference and Defensive Player of the Year. Broke the conference record for most Player of the Week awards. Finished her career with 487 saves and a 49% save percentage average, and was elected to the IWLCA Senior All-Star game in Sparks, MD. She will graduate in December with a Finance degree and has a diverse background of knowledge across all positions. She wants to teach and help kids excel in their athletic careers to ensure they reach their goals and potential.
Jane Bartlett, Coach
Jane hails from East Lyme, CT where she was a two sport athlete in high school playing lacrosse and volleyball. In lacrosse, Jane was a four-year starter and a two-time all-state selection. She went on to play college lacrosse at Division II Limestone College as a goalie where she saw significant playing time all four years. Jane only allowed 48 goals in almost 600 minutes between the pipes and had a 4.69 goals against average. She graduated from Limestone in 2017 and is pursuing a nursing career. She brings a wealth of knowledge and passion for the game, focusing on defensive skills and goalie work.
Evan O'Neill, Coach
Evan comes to Charleston Elite from Ho-Ho-Kus, N.J. She was a very accomplished high school lacrosse player at Northern Highlands Regional where she holds a number of school records. She was among the top 10 rising seniors by Lacrosse Magazine and listed in the top 25 before her junior season. Played club with Metro Lacrosse and went on to play at Georgetown University where she had a great career. Evan had a successful career on Wall Street and is excited to now call Charleston home. Her aunts run a successful lacrosse club in N.J. and she hopes to increase the lacrosse IQ of the girls in the Charleston area.
Sophie Moore, Coach
Sophie is a current collegiate lacrosse player at Newberry College in Newberry, S.C. She set a freshman scoring record with 34 goals and was named the SAC Offensive Player of the Week. She graduated from Wando High School where she was a first team all-state selection and 2017 National High School All-American. Sophie was also a captain on the tennis team for three years and lead them to a state championship. She looks forward to giving back to the community in which she played lacrosse.
Andrea Walker, Coach
Andrea is a native of Baldwinsville, NY, right outside of the renowned lacrosse city of Syracuse. She has had a lacrosse stick in her hand since she was 4 years old. Playing for Central New York Elite Lacrosse Club and the Baldwinsville high school she led all her teams to success utilizing her high lacrosse IQ and a precision left hand to put the ball in the back of the net as a low attacker. In college she was the captain of University at Buffalo's club team. Andrea has coached youth lacrosse and is very excited to join the team to share her knowledge of the game.
Danielle Walker, Coach
Danielle is a native of Baldwinsville, NY and was a four-year standout defensive player at Oswego State. She was named the SUNYAC Defensive Athlete of the Week twice in her career and garnered several conference accolades including being named to the SUNYAC All-Tournament Team, All-SUNYAC, SUNYAC Defensive Athlete of the Year and owning a spot on the IWCLA All-Empire Region First Team. She led Oswego State in ground balls in 2017 and 2019, and caused turnovers in 2017, 2018, and 2019. She also has experience taking draws in her collegiate career. Danielle is excited to bring her experience to the girls of the Low Country.
